We have been exclusively engaged to source a Contracts and Procurement Manager for one of Australia’s largest Oil & Gas providers. This leading coal seam gas explorer and producer is focused on developing its world-class reserves for domestic and international supply and as such this exclusive opportunity has arisen.
The Contracts & Procurement(C&P) Manager - Well Engineering role is one of four direct reports to the C&P Manager, and is accountable for all contracts and procurement activity within Well Engineering. Working in collaboration with the procurement function and asset leadership teams ensure the development and implementation of strategies to optimise value creation, control and safety management in support of the Asset business plan.
The incumbent will be expected to develop appropriate Contracts and Procurement strategies, while providing support for all operational aspects of the team in compliance with governance requirements of the business. They will develop and implement plans and reporting mechanisms to ensure effective management and visibility of activity.
The Manager will lead and mentor a well-established team of seven, so must be engaging and collaborative and have a consultative and open management style. The Manager must have a technical understanding of well engineering and have been in a similar industry for at least 10-15 years; they must have worked in a high energy and fast paced environment where they can adapt to new priorities quickly. This role would suit someone with a good strategic understanding although the role is more of an execution and implementation role where the focus would be on compliance and on good strong contract management skills. The Manager will have a duty to both themselves and those around them to ensure that safe practice is adhered to at all times.
